Overview

College of the Canyons (COC) is a public community college located in Santa Clarita, California, established in 1969. It operates under the Santa Clarita Community College District and offers a wide range of academic programs. COC provides Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees in over 100 academic programs, along with nearly 200 certificate programs . The college has two campuses: the main campus in Valencia and the Canyon Country campus, which opened in 2007. The Canyon Country campus features facilities like the Don Takeda Science Center, a 55,000 square foot science and laboratory building . COC is known for its open-access policy, allowing students who have graduated high school or are at least 18 years of age to attend . The college also offers the Canyons Promise Program, providing eligible first-time, full-time students with two years of tuition-free education . With a student population of over 37,000 as of 2023, COC continues to serve as a significant educational institution in the region .​
